Birds of passage
The Kornjača Gallery, in collaboration with independent curator
Katia Barinova, presents the group exhibition “Birds of Passage”,
which looks into the nuances and subjectivities of everyday life
reimagined in the light of global and political upheavals.
Over the past two years, many of us have faced cruсial changes
in life, forced to explore our capabilities, search for new meanings
and to reinvent life. War has deprived some of their homes while
forcing others to leave, cruelly shattering the familiar world of
both.
The exhibition “Birds of Passage” aims to carry out a collective
reflection on the loss of home, bereavement, confusion,
sorrow, adaptation to the collapse of familiar life, and the
search for new anchors in times of uncertainty. The project
also aims to collectively acknowledge and contemplate the
trauma anniversary marking two years since the beginning of
the war. All these themes are explored in the exhibition through
the works of three Russian artists currently residing in Serbia.
These projects not only represent their respective personal and
creative paths but also become an expressive interpretation of
our contemporary reality.
