I’m heading out. I’m going to look for a garden. I meet signs along the way. What are they telling me? I encounter a plastic hanger, a stick that looks like a slingshot, a used aluminum cosmetic bottle, a plastic disc from the dryer, discarded chairs, a helmet painted to look like a skull, fragments from a broken car headlight, a dead bird crushed by a car. What do all these objects tell me? I think that everything living becomes dead. How often is this caused by a person, perhaps too often. Does a person strive to live or does a person strive to destroy everything around him, strives for death, for self-destruction? When does a person make this choice? I think about the wars that spread across the world like a sea of blood. I’m thinking about how to stop this. If a mirror was placed in front of each gun, would a person be able to shoot? Can we shoot ourselves? It seems that humanity is doing just that.
